HIDEit Co-Founder Chuck Shirley Takes on InfoComm 2022
We’re super excited to have had a chance to go back to InfoComm for the first time since 2019!
After the trade show COVID break, it was awesome to walk a trade show floor, meet new people + talk with our partners face-to-face again.
Walk InfoComm with Co-Founder Chuck Shirley
First stop was in the West Hall where we stopped into the Barco booth. We were greeted by Paul who instantly recalled working with us and was excited to give us some updates.
First, the Barco CSE 100/200 is now an end of life product, so we will no longer be producing a bracket for them, but the Barco CX 20 is alive and well. The biggest news: they updated their software to not only be a conference room sharing application, but also serve as a digital signage player! This opens up doors not only for them, but for HIDEit as well.
Next stop the Webex by Cisco booth. Though we don’t make brackets specific to their devices, we were excited to meet up with our good friend Justin. We first met Justin in person at InfoComm 2016 and have made a point to visit with him ever since. He has personally used more than 100 HIDEit brackets going back to our first acrylic mount for the original Roku. He did mention the HIDEit Uni-NSM Mount works very well for the Webex head units when there isn’t a need for a server rack.
After reading the daily news, we stopped by the Bose booth to take a look at their new Bose Videobar VB-S. Super cool and compact video soundbar for conference rooms. Unfortunately for us, they did really good job of building the table top stand in a way that it can be converted to being wall mounted. Next time Bose, let HIDEit build something for you!
After wandering around the West Hall, we were really exited to stumble onto the Dante booth! They had a video wall on display showing off their AV Decoders that just happened to be wall mounted with our Universal Small+Wide Mount! What a nice surprise… We made sure to make a connection with their trade show manager so we can be of help again next time.
A big reason why we attended this year is because we partnered with Mersive Technologies to develop a bracket for their Solstice Pod! We had a great conversation with their founder Chris, but had to keep it short since their booth was slammed with customer conversations. Super excited to able to support their customer’s with their installs.
We took some time to wander a little more and stopped by booths like Blackmagic Design, DVIGear, Stirling and others. We even made a stop by Zoom since so many of their customers have made Zoom rooms using our HIDEit MiniU Mount for the Apple Mac mini.
Now a quick trip over the bridge to visit all the Digital Signage Manufacturers in the North Hall.
First stop, Absen Lighting… Honestly, didn’t spent very much time there, but we loved their tent camping set up since we're avid campers here at HIDEit.
Most important stop in the North Hall, BrightSign! We were really excited to stop-in even though they don’t really know us. Our HIDEit BSXT Mount has been used globally by large brands like AMEX and Menard’s, as well as sports venues and universities around the world! Their new Brightsign XC5 player can support up to four different streams of content that normally would require their customer to use multiple players.
Over the next hour we were just excited to walk around and see the newest video wall and display technology by all the biggest players like Samsung, Sony, LG, Philips, Sharp, Panasonic, ViewSonic and more. Some really cool holographic technology on display with HYPERVSN.
Thank you AVIXA for another great show. Till next year!
