How to Install a HIDEit Wall Mount

Most HIDEit mounts go up in about five minutes with a drill, a level and a Phillips screwdriver. The screws and drywall anchors are in the box.

BEFORE YOU START

Plan Your Setup Before You Drill

Decide where each device will sit and leave room for cables. Remove any discs, unplug power from every device, including your TV, and check that your remote still works from where the device will hang.

Install a HIDEit Mount in 5 Steps

Gather Your Tools

A drill with a 3/16 in. bit, a stud finder, a level, a #2 Phillips screwdriver, a pencil, a damp paper towel and the HIDEit hardware from the box.

Mark Your Mount Location

Leave room for every cable. Hold the mount where it will go, level it and mark the holes. You may need to take the TV off the wall first.

Drill and Anchor

Into a stud: skip the drill bit and drive the mounting screw straight in. Into drywall: drill with the 3/16 in. bit, hold a damp paper towel a few inches below to catch dust, then tap in the included anchors. No drill? Start a pilot hole with a mounting screw.

Attach the Mount

Line the mount up with the anchors and screw it on. Hand-tighten only, so you don't strip the anchors.

Slide In Your Device

Slide the device in slowly, connect your cables and tidy them up. Rehang the TV and enjoy the clean setup.

What tools do I need to install a HIDEit mount?

Most HIDEit mounts need only a #2 Phillips screwdriver, and the screws and anchors for drywall are included. A drill with a 3/16 in. bit, a level and a stud finder make the job faster.

How long does it take to install a HIDEit mount?

Most installs take about five minutes once your layout is planned. Most HIDEit mounts ship assembled, and adjustable mounts assemble in under two minutes.

Do I need to mount into a stud?

No. Mount into a stud when you can. When you can't, use the drywall anchors included with your mount.

Can I install without drilling into the wall?

Yes. VESA-compatible devices can mount to the back of your TV with the included screws, and the HIDEit Uni-VESA Adapter attaches mounts to the back of a wall- or ceiling-mounted TV.

Can I mount into concrete, brick or stone?

Yes. Use a masonry bit with anchors or screws rated for masonry that fit #8 screws.
