THE INSIDE STORY: HIDEit Universal Soundbar Mount
When we set out to create the HIDEit Universal Soundbar Mount (Uni-SBR), our goal was simple: make it the best soundbar mount on the market. But getting there was anything but simple. In September 2023, we started the journey of creating the Uni-SBR, with a vision for a soundbar mount that isn't just functional but also easy to install, durable, and has a minimal and versatile design enough to last through soundbar upgrades.
WHY DID WE MAKEit?
The original plan was the create a bracket for the Sonos Ray. But we thought, if we can create a mount that is strong but small in size and can work with a variety of speakers, we can cater to a bigger market and it can potentially replace an old product— the HIDEit Arc Mount.
"At first, it was a Ray bracket. But then we thought 'How can we make one that will work with multiple products?' It's going to be small and compact... a lot of installers we work with can buy a couple and leave them in their truck because it won't take up a lot of space."

HOW DID WE MAKEit?
We know soundbar speakers can be hefty, so we chose to use heavy-duty 12-gauge steel support the speaker's weight. The choice wasn't just about strength, it was also about giving our customers peace of mind when wall mounting their soundbars.
For extra security, we made a decision to add a keyhole feature to our design— this locks the soundbar in place once installed, providing a a secure fit that keeps the speaker flush to the wall.
Ease of installation is another top priority. That's why we added obrounds to our design. With this feature, the soundbar can be moved side to side so you can easily find the right alignment and achieve that professional look.
We also created a custom install template. We ran multiple in-house test installs to see if the templates are easily to follow and if the soundbar can be centered under the TV with minimal effort.
To make sure we got this right, we involved those who know best— AV integrators. Our warehouse manager, who is a former AV integrator, gave insights that came from his hands-on experience in the field.
"When we looked at the template, it was very big and it was thick, so it was hard to hold on the wall. So I suggested to slim it down, make it smaller and simpler. It's important for installers to have the ability to use if for a lot more applications."
