WHY DID WE MAKEit?

"We've been using Apple since pretty much the beginning— now in the new office everyone uses a MacBook or a Mac mini. That was the option for us and it's been a great computer," said Rey Shirley, Co-Founder and CEO of HIDEit Mounts.

At the HIDEit HQ, we've been using Mac minis since the very beginning! Our first Mac mini mount launched in 2010, and over the years, we've redesigned and redefined our mounts to keep up with Apple's changes.

The design was inspired by our previous Mac mini mounts as well as our Apple TV Mounts— since the new Mac mini M4 is now close in size to an Apple TV. We wanted a mount that provides a secure fit, while matching the aesthetic and functionality of Apple's sleek design.

We spent months researching, testing, and refining the design to ensure it met the high standards of Mac mini users. Plus, we made sure the power button stays within easy reach, eliminating the hassle of fumbling behind the mount.

"I started with our other Mac mini mount. So I basically took one of them, and started marking it up. As as soon as we saw a picture of it, I saw all those giant vents on the bottom. We know how hot the Mac mini gets, especially the new M4 chip. We started playing with it, coming up with the initial design to give it more space away for proper ventilation. We took into consideration our Apple TV 4K Mount, and how we can emulate that," said Chuck Shirley, Co-Found and COO of HIDEit Mounts.
