WHY DID WE MAKEit?

"Having so many baseball products, I think that was kind of a natural, obvious things we needed to do. I know for myself, when I looked at the products that existed in the market, I pretty much hated them as a personal user," said HIDEit Mounts Co-Found and CEO, Rey Shirley.

This mount was made with displaying baseballs in mind. We all know you have balls floating around the house, stored in a drawer or maybe even under the bed. Whether it's from a memorable game day, or your kid's first home run in his youth baseball team.

"Not everybody's balls are as sentimental as Babe Ruth signed ball that you'd keep them in a little plastic case. For others, you'd want to be able to display them on the wall to be able to talk about it and get them out of the door for a quick game. That's what's important to me," said HIDEit Mounts Co-Founder and COO, Chuck Shirley.

HOW DID WE MAKEit?

The HIDEit Small Ball Wall Mount (HIDEit Ball-S) was not an easy project. Creating, planning and designing this mount took quite some time before ending up with the final product.

At HIDEit, our design process prioritizes protection and functionality. We focus on details that keep your items safe, like chamfering the base of this mount to hold the ball securely without causing scratches or damage. This precision is what sets HIDEit products apart from the rest.

We added two screw holes to the backplate to keep the mount level.

"With just one screw, it could swing and wouldn't be sturdy," said Kelly Isensee, HIDEit Mount Product and Marketing Manager.

"When you look at it, you might think it was east to make , but it wasn't. Our goal is always to design something that's discreet yet functional, and that balance was key in creating this ball mount," said Rey.

"At first, we designed a cradle to hold the ball, but it didn’t work—it was like balancing a ball in a spoon, and it moved around too much. So, we cut a hole for the ball to sit in, but the edge was sharp and could damage the leather. We ended up adding a chamfer to protect it,"added Chuck.

WHAT MAKESit UNIQUE?

What sets this mount apart is its 16-gauge steel construction, making it smaller, sturdier, and more durable than fragile plastic or acrylic mounts that can crack or break when over-tightened. We designed it for long-lasting strength, ensuring it stays secure on the wall.
