WHY DID WE MAKEit?

"We've bought a lot of gloves from retail stores and have looked at how they're holding them — none of the options were a viable solution that meet HIDEit standards," said HIDEit Mounts Co-Founder and CEO, Rey Shirley.

The HIDEit Glove Mount was made to proudly display your gloves — because they’re more than gear; they’re memories.

"We have a family glove that's been passed down. It started with older cousins who played T-ball. It was a generic glove but it had their last names written on it. It got handed down to our family, so it has our last name, and now it's been passed to another cousin with another last name," said Co-Founder and COO, Chuck Shirley. "I want to display it because it's such a cool memory... That's a great keepsake."

HOW DID WE MAKEit?

Form and function are always taken into account. With over 15 years of experience, we have a lot of existing mounts for inspiration to draw from.

We design everything to be simple, which is harder than it looks! To create a universal solution that fits youth through adult size gloves, and catcher's mitts, all while maintaining the perfect distance from the wall to give it our signature free-floating look — it was challenging.

"For such a simple mount, I don't think people realize how much time, effort and energy goes into it. The number of variations, the time spent evaluating and making numerous tweaks," said Rey.

"The first couple were too big. Then it held the glove too close to the wall. Then we had to find the right angle that holds the glove upright, maintain the glove shape without falling off," added Chuck.

WHAT MAKESit Unique?

The shape. This mount was designed to mimic the palm of the hand, which gives the glove the proper support to maintain its shape, however it was broken in.

"The base design for this product is your palm. So if it fits on your hand, it should work with this mount," said Rey.

There’s nothing else like it. Retail hangers are made for new, unworn gloves. Glove boxes keep keepsakes hidden away. We wanted something better — a mount to proudly display a well-loved glove while still being accessible for every day use.
